Well, if you haven't heard, the Veteran's Committee once again failed to vote Ron Santo into the Hall of Fame. He received 69.5% of the votes, but needed 75% to get in.
The Veteran's Committee votes every two years. This is the third time they've voted since they've been in existence, and they've still never voted anyone in. To me, if you aren't going to vote in guys who deserve it, like Ron Santo and Gil Hodges, then why even have the Veterans Committee?
Ron Santo deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Hopefully, the next time the Veteran's Committee votes, they will acknowledge that by giving him the 75% he needs to get in.
I just hope he's still around to enjoy it. |
